Final Poject

This project is something I have thought of for many ideas, and it was pretty cool to make up a logo and sort of have it come to fruition. I started with the logo as a circle to represent a bag, and I used the green and yellow as fresh bright colors, to add a more positive spin to trash. Through out the brochure, business card and letterhead, I tried to keep the fun, fresh approach when marrying them all together to look professional and unified. In my opinion, I think I did a pretty good job. I kept the same fonts throughout, as well as color, patterns, themes and shapes. After much frustration, hard work and determination, I am very happy with the way my final project turned out. I learned a lot, and will hopefully use it in the future.

Questionnaire

1)   What is your business?
Decorative garbage bags.
2)   Describe your business in one sentence
We design and manufacture decorative garbage bags to stylize your garbage cans.
3)   Who is your target audience?
Mothers, decorators, home industry
4)   Who are your competitors?
Regular garbage bag brands.
5)   What makes them better/worse than your product/service?
Regular garbage bags may be scented, but there is nothing out there with any sort of visual effect. All the bags are white or black. Styliner's garbage bags are better because it combines all of these, in addition to better quality.
6)   Do you currently have an identity?
No, there is nothing like Styliner garbage bags.
1)   How do you want your image to be seen in two years?
I hope styliner garbage bags are seen as a great alternative to regular garbage bags. With just a bit more in price, there will be an even greater improvement. Styliner garbage bags will be recognized as a successful and supportive garbage bag for all household needs, while also incorporating style and scent.
2)   If your company was an animal, what animal would it be and why?
An elephant, because they have tough skin and durability. They also have texture to their skin, which represents patterns.
3)   If your company/brand was a person, who would it be and why?
Barbara Barry because being a home decorator, she appreciates the little differences in a room, that can have a strong impact. She has also been though so many battles and has stayed strong, much like how Styliner garbage bags are close to resilient.
4)   If your company/brand was an object, what would it be?
A decorative garbage bag.
5)   If your customer was a cartoon character, who would it be?
Pluto, because he did not have a major role in each show, but his presence made a difference. Pluto is also very dependable, similar to Styliner garbage bags.

FINAL

Under the Bridge by Red Hot Chili Peppers

"Is the city I live in

The city of Angels"

I chose this song because it has always been one of my favorites. I also chose this specific line because when I was listening to the song, I immediately knew that I wanted to do it for my project, and I imagined how it would look in my head. Although it did not turn out how I originally imagined, I am happy with the way it turned out.

Custom Graphic

It has been raining the past couple of days, so I was inspired by the umbrella. I found the other picture online and wanted to use it with my project. I used the stamp effect while playing around on photoshop in order to create the rain effect on the lense. This project was fun, and helped me learn more about the application.

Paris

I have always wanted to go to Paris, so I chose to place myself in the eiffel tower. Funny enough this picture was taken in the south of France.

Rihanna

After looking at what students have done previously for this project, I decided to choose Rihanna because I think she is a talented artist, and beautiful. She has many features that I wanted to highlight in my Illustrator project, for example her cheekbones. I am also not good with faces, so I wanted to work on my weaknesses and challenge myself. After many hours and learning new techniques along the way, I think my image turned out pretty well! For my lack of experience, I am thoroughly pleased with the way Rihanna came out. She is obviously not identical to the original photo, but I added my own artistic approach to the image to make it my own.

Logo

This is my logo for Styliner decorative garbage bags. At first I was creating sketches that resembled a garbage bag, but later I decided that I wanted my logo to be simple and elegant. I went this route because decorative garabage bags are directed towards a higher class. I chose to make it a circular shape, because it sort of resembles a bag, and I created a thicker outline to symbolize a "liner" within the circle. I chose the colors because they are fun and fresh, demonstrating the twist to the class garbage bag.

Umbrella

I was inspired by the recent rainy days when making this calligram. Within the umbrella is a repeated quote about rain. I tried to change the colors within the umbrella to create shadows and dimension. I am happy with the way it turned out, and it was a fun way to practice the tools!

Logos

I think that the Target is very successful. It clearly depicts the name of the company in the visual, and it also stands out. This simply "target" can be seen and recognized anywhere. Not only does this logo symbolize the name, but the feelings and attitude the store has grown to embody. People of all ages would be able to spot and identify the Target logo.

The Kodak logo no only resembles a K, but also a flash, especially because of the color. This may also help people recognize that is related to a camera, despite the renown name. Although I am not a fan of yellow and red together, I think that the yellow is important because it looks like a flash from a camera. The red also makes it pop. I think this is a successful logo that is well-known from all age groups.

The FedEx logo is one of my favorites because it has the name of the brand in the logo, but it also includes the hidden arrow between the E and the X to demonstrate something going some where, which works for this shipping company. It also pops because the colors are almost complimentary. It is plain, and simple and gets the idea across.

The Toys R Us logo is obviously geared towards kids, and is definitely successful. Despite the fact that all kids love toy stores, the colorful logo can be spotted from miles away. It is fun and inviting from the font and colors, which also makes it very effective. This logo can be recognized throughout families all across the country, and maybe even the world.

Amazon has become a very popular website, with a very thoughtful and successful logo. It is plain, and simple with a creative hidden meaning. The arrow from the A to the Z shows that this online store has everything from A to Z, which they really do. It is recognizable and known by almost everyone. The simplicity makes it work, considering there is a lot going on within the website.

Ideas

*Decorative Garbage Bags
People buy nice garbage cans to go with their house, and then put an ugly garbage bag in it to line and protect the can. These garbage bags do the same job, but with style.

*Phone case & Wallet
This phone case holds credit cards, IDs, and money, along with a phone case that allows you to use your phone without opening the case at all. This saves time, and things from falling out!

*Left Overs
Left over food from the week that goes uneaten, but you don't want to waste it. This website allows you to put in all your left over ingredients, choose a style your craving, and then generates a recipe that includes most if not all of your ingredients.

*Personal Shopper App
Type in all of your favorite brands or websites, and this app will update you on their sales or new items.

*Greenpac
Reusable boxes

Project 1: Octopus

Coming from the Jersey Shore, I love the beach. I also wanted to practice curves in the HTML format, so I chose to create an octopus because it incorporated both. I started with the head and body, then added the arms. I love how my octopus came out, although it is not exactly the same as my beginning sketches. I was able to overcome my challenges of curves, in addition to expressing my love for the ocean.

A Bit About Me

HELLO! I am Camille and currently a full time student at the University of Tampa! When I am not studying, I enjoy hanging out with friends, exploring, bike riding down bayshore and laying out by the pool embracing the gorgeous weather Tampa has to offer. My mother works in NYC as an interior textile designer so her artistic talent has always influenced my creativity. After following the art track in high school, I discovered my true passion for the arts. I have continued to pursue my creative ways by double majoring in Advertising and Graphic Design. Although both these majors required me to take COM210,  I am very excited to take this course. All of my previous art experience has been on paper, so I cannot wait o get on the computer and explore more of my imaginative abilities! It should be very interesting and I am expecting to learn more about using the computer and what it has to offer.
